Expandi boom

EXPANDI® Self inflatable Oil Booms are the most rapid, compact and easy to handle oil boom systems available. It is always ready for immediate deployment. In pre packed condition it requires very little space. There is no need for external power packs, air compressors or other auxiliary equipment. This system always guarantees reliable performance since it is self-inflating and thus starts expanding the moment it is released.

Single port inflatable boom

The Expandi Single Point Inflatable Oil Boom is a rapid deployment yet rugged oil boom. It is inflated from the towing equipment connected to the first boom section. Each section is comprised of individual air chambers and each chamber is connected to the common rail air filling system through a check valve. Chambers have a high capacity valve mounted for deflation when recovering the boom. In the unlikely event that the single point inflation system fails, this air valve offers a backup inflation solution similar to that of ordinary air-inflated oil booms.

Inflatable boom

The Expandi Inflatable Oil Boom is a hardy oil boom which has internal cylindrical and individual air chambers. Air chambers are inflated section by section by means of a back pack / standard blower.

Submersible boom

This unique Oil Boom System is designed for immediate, reliable operation. It can be positioned in stand-by mode on the lake or sea floor The boom Is ready to respond in just a few minutes, with the push of a button or via telephone. The Submersible boom is ideal for terminals, refineries, harbours, and other defined problem areas. It is operated by only one person, in complete contrast to traditional oil booms that requires more manpower and equipment.

Fence boom

The Expandi Fence Oil Boom is an efficient oil boom with fixed, flat, floatation elements. It is always ready for use. This type of boom is recommended for protective or sheltered waters. The system requires limited storage space and can be rolled onto a reel. Expandi has developed a thin Fence Boom specially designed for facilities where storage space is limited.

Cylindrical boom

The Expandi Cylindrical Boom is recommended for sheltered waters. Expandi has designed and ready for use, a cylindrical boom with a continuous cylindrical shape. There are no vertical welding, and short floatation chambers enhance the wave and wind response. The boom is fitted with a top tension member. Small booms can be stored in durable big bags.

Shore sealing boom

Shore Sealing Booms should be used in inter-tidal areas or riverbanks where water levels fluctuate constantly. They function best when it is necessary to maintain a seal at the waterline regardless of whether the water level rises or falls. Shore Sealing Booms perform by using water-filled lower (ballast) and air-filled upper (float) chambers, which automatically adjust to changing water levels.

Silt curtain boom

Expandi silt curtain barriers are designed to control the spreading of solids suspended in the water column. This usually occurs during construction or dredging operations. The use of silt curtain reduces the impact of the suspended solids in the aquatic environment. The curtain let the water pass through but not the suspended solids.

Disposable boom

Expandi Disposable Booms are cost effective, single use containment booms which are recommended for sheltered waters. This boom is inexpensive and disposable. Time consuming, costly and unpleasant decontamination is not required. The booms are manufactured with independent, closed, cell foam floatation chambers with a cylindrical continuous shape to enhance the wave and wind response. The boom is fitted with a top tension member.

Sorbent booms

The Expandi Sorbent Boom is the ideal solution to contain and absorb small oil spills. The booms are available in specially treated cotton or polypropylene fibres. Effective quick couplings allow rapid connection of sections to desired lengths. These booms are inexpensive and disposable. Time consuming, costly and unpleasant cleaning is not necessary.

Skirted Sorbent Boom

The Expandi Skirted Sorbent Boom is another excellent solution for smaller spills. The sorbent booms contain and absorb the spill. The skirt stops the oil from escaping under the boom. The booms are available in specially treated cotton or polypropylene fibres. Effective quick couplings allow rapid connection of sections to desired lengths.
